Move Paper Onto Your Desktop
With the eCopy Suite of products and the high-speed scanning
capability of your Canon digital copier, anyone in your organization can
transform paper documents into information that is easily integrated into all
your business applications. The eCopy Suite provides a simple, easy-touse
solution for extending the use of your Canon digital imaging system, while
leveraging your investment in the corporate network infrastructure. eCopy
connects your Canon digital copier to your company’s E-mail and other networked
enterprise applications for low-cost, easy, instantaneous distribution and
management of electronic copies of paper documents.
The eCopy Suite
eCopy software acts as the familiar office copier’s gateway to
the corporate network and Internet. You can even treat paper documents just like
electronic files, right from your workstation. The eCopy Suite of products
includes an eCopy ScanStation and associated software applications:
eCopy ScanStation
The eCopy ScanStation is a small-format touch screen panel that
attaches easily to any scan-ready, eCopy-enabled digital device or scanner. The
eCopy ScanStation allows users of a department or enterprise network to share
the digital copier's/scanner's ability to turn paper documents into electronic
files, which can then be distributed around the office or around the world over
the corporate network or the Internet.
To make an eCopy, a user simply places the paper document in
the digital Multi Functional device's papertray, and pushes a button on the
eCopy ScanStation touch screen. Options include distributing to the user's
desktop, to network, fax and to e-mail. Once the user selects an eCopy option
and picks recipients from the on-line address book, the document runs through
the digital copier at high speed, creating an electronic copy of the document -
that can be handled like any other electronic file. A typical 20-page eCopy is
transmitted as a digital document file less than 1 MB in size.
eCopy ScanShare..
eCopy ScanShare drives the eCopy ScanStation and delivers the
electronic files to the network. In addition to the functions described above,
it also features a preview function. Once a document is scanned, images of the
pages are displayed on the touch screen, allowing the user to preview the
document on screen. eCopy ScanShare integrates seemlessly with Window NT and
Novell NetWare, enabling administrators to manage user lists in the online
address book, and create Inboxes for multiple eCopy stations from an
administrative workstation anywhere on the network.
eCopy Desktop ...... The
eCopy Desktop software provides a powerful set of mark-up tools. Users can also
view and annotate, perform Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to generate
editable text, and store or distribute eCopies from their desktops.
eCopy Viewer ........ The
free, small-footprint (1MB) viewing application that enables any user to view
and print an eCopy made from a paper document. It is downloadable at no charge
from the eCopy website. |
